Match Summary: Hearts certain of Top Four finish after home win

Accra Hearts of Oak will be counted amongst the best four teams in the 2017-18 league when the league comes to an end after their win over Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

The Phobians moved on to 47 points with their closest rivals, Asante Kotoko on 40 points after 28 league games.

Playing against an energetic Dwarfs side who on their own were seeking to put the threats of relegation far behind them, Hearts of Oak had the first of their two goals as early as the 16th minute when Winful Cobbinah whipped a free-kick beyond the Dwarfs’ human wall and into the net.

Winful Cobbinah was on hand for Hearts’ second goal when in the 28th minute he gave a delightful assist to Joshua Otoo for the second goal to be recorded. Hearts were cruising and playing with little errors and much enthusiasm as the game went on.

Ebusua Dwarfs halved the score in the 44th minute when Joseph Esso headed in what eventually became their only goal of the game.

With three goals already scored in the first half, fans expected more fireworks in the second department of the game but that was not to be as both sides failed to add up to their tally.

Starman Cobbinah and Patrick Razak combined delightfully at various times for the Phobian side but any time they looked like scoring once again. Dwarfs raised the tempo of their game forcing Hearts goalie Ben Mensah to come out to make needed saves at times.

There was a fair exchange of pleasantries till the game came to an end much to the delight of the fans who were present at the Accra Sports Stadium.
