Liberty get late win over Inter Allies

Liberty Professionals left it late in their home win over Inter Allies as the Dansoman side scored on the 82nd and 84th minutes to get what eventually came as a convincing win.

A pulsating game that brought out the best from both sides in terms of possessive play saw Inter Allies losing their first choice keeper, Kwame Baah to injury. Kotei Blankson replaced the injured keeper in the 40th minute to mark his league debut.

After a goalless first half, both sides who were looking for their first wins of the new season threw in fresh legs hoping to get the much needed goals. Samuel Bekoe replaced injured Frederick Yamoah while Isaac Osae of Inter Allies later replaced Ropapa Mensah.

The hosts on the other side replaced Brite Andoh with Samuel Annan in what looked more of a tactical change. Bernard Arthur who will eventually score the first goal of the match replaced Papa Arko in the 71st minute while Emmanuel Sarpong came on for Issah Shaibu in the 79th minute to help the Liberty objective.

As a result of their substitutions, the Dansoman lads relied on the new found energy to whip Inter Allies into submission. Bernard Arthur by that got the first goal of the game in the 82nd minute and two minutes after the first goal, the Scientific soccer lads overcame the Allies defence again and scored through Gerald Arkson.

Liberty Professionals will travel to Berekum to face Chelsea in their match day 3 encounter while Inter Allies will travel to Tarkwa to face Medeama SC.
